Top Scents for Soaps

The Saponifier Magazine conducts a yearly survey called Raves for Faves. In their most recent issue of the magazine, they printed the results of the survey. One of the survey questions asks soapmakers what their best selling scents are, and below are the results. I included both the 2008 and 2009 reults as the magazine did so you can compare the results from the previous year.

1. Lavender
2. Vanilla
3. Lemon/Lemongrass
4. Patchouli
5. Oatmeal, Milk & Honey

  1. Get Soaked has a Lavender, Peppermint (Candy Cane), Coconut Lime (Tropical Limelight), Rose (Romance), Orange (Orange Blossom), Lilac and a Blackberry Cream (close to the Black Raspberry Vanilla). Some similarities! Those are our best sellers, so I think we're doing alright!

  2. I voted both years. It's interesting to see the similarities & differences. This year's list doesn't have any "trendy" fragrances like the black raspberry and lovespell from last year. Lavender is NOT my best seller, although I do sell it. My newest scents always seem to sell out first, which makes me want to start over completely with new scents!
