Recipes from Yesteryear - For Bath and Body

Here are a few more recipes from yesteryear.

Soft Skin Fix - While in the shower, soap up your body with your favorite soap and before rinsing off apply yellow cornmeal as a scrub on your skin using moistened hands.

Sore Nipples from Nursing - Grated carrots applied directly to cracked nipples will heal and soothe the pain.

Soft Hands - Shake a half cup of glycerin, a half cup of rose water, and a quarter cup of witch hazel in a jar. Apply this to your hands after they've been in water.

Relaxing Bath - Place 1/2 oz chamomile flowers in a muslin bag. Put this in 1 quart of water and boil for 4-5 minutes. Fill tub with water. Add the chamomile water to the bath and relax.

Ancient beauty secrets are quite easy. Most ingredients can be found in your kitchen. All sources agree on one thing though - beauty begins on the inside. Drink plenty of water, eat healthy, and get adequate sleep.
