The Living Dead Sea - Part 2 - Dead Sea Salt Recipes

Dead Sea Salts

The salts of the Dead Sea are used primarily for drawing out toxins, dirt and oils from the skin. They are used to exfoliate and revitalize the health of the skin. They can be used in soaks and scrubs, but cannot be used in soap, as they cause the soap to sweat excessively.

Formulary

Breathe Easy Bath Salts
3 cups Dead Sea salts
1 tsp Dendritic salt
15 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
15 drops Tea Tree essential oil
15 drops Lavender essential oil

Add the essential oils to the dendritic salt and blend well, breaking up any clumps. Add the mixture to the sea salts and blend well. Store in a sealed jar or bottle. Add ½ to 1 cup of salts to running bath. For optimal benefits, soak for 20-30 minutes. This formula is good for cold and flu relief.

Ginger Orange Milk Salts
3 cups Dead Sea salts
1 cup powdered milk (any type)
1 tbsp dried orange rind
1 tsp Dendritic salt
25 drops Ginger essential oil
25 drops Sweet Orange essential oil

Add the essential oils to the dendritic salt and blend well, breaking up any clumps. Add the mixture and the remaining ingredients to the sea salts and blend well. Store in a sealed jar or bottle. Add ½ to 1 cup of salts to running bath. For optimal benefits, soak for 20-30 minutes.

Margarita Body Scrub
1 cup Dead Sea salts (fine)
1 tbsp Liquid soap base
1 tbsp Sweet Almond oil
1 tsp Parsley powder (for color)
30 drops Lime essential oil
5 drops Lemon essential oil
5 drops Tangerine essential oil
Mix all of the ingredients except the salts, breaking up any clumps. Add the mixture to the sea salts and blend well. Store in a sealed jar or bottle. Scoop about ¼ - ½ cup into hand before entering shower. Wet skin and rub scrub over body avoiding the face. Rinse with warm water and shower as usual.

The soap acts as an emulsifier. Scooping the product before entering the shower or using Malibu bottles for your products keeps water from being introduced to the scrub so you can forego a preservative.

Minty Solid Salt Scrub
3 cups Dead Sea salts (fine)
8 oz Clear melt and pour soap base
8 oz Jojoba oil
1/2 tsp green mica
40 drops Peppermint essential oil
40 drops Spearmint essential oil

Melt the soap base. Add the oil and blend well. Then add the mica and essential oils and blend. Add the mixture to the sea salts and stir together quickly. Spread the salt mixture in a square slab mold (flexible works great). Allow to cool and solidify. Cut the square into 1 x 1 inch squares. Store in a sealed jar. Bring 2-3 squares into shower. Wet skin and scrub to soften. Rub scrub over body avoiding the face. Rinse with warm water and shower as usual.

Solid scrubs are a great method of providing all natural products without needing a preservative
